Everyone on your roster has a place in your organization.
Positions describe the place each person has. Whether it’s the group’s leader, another officer, a general member, an advisor, or an employee, each position has a title, can have special eligibility requirements, and can be assigned special permissions to fulfill their function in the organization. The process for how a person is accepted into a position can also be described.
Get Involved helps you track your membership from the time someone initiates a request to become a member to the time they stop being a member. Get Involved can even help you remember who was previously a member so they can be invited to reunions or be asked to continue their support for the organization.
Positions
The organization roster begins with defining the various positions in your organization. Some positions may be specific to one person such as “President” while others may include a large number of people such as “General Member”. A person gets added to your organization’s roster by being assigned to a position with the appropriate membership status.
Memberships
Each membership has a status indicating where they are in the process. Statuses are organized into three groups:
- Prospective Members
- Initiated – A request for membership in a position has been started by the applicant.
- Submitted – An applicant has submitted their membership request for consideration. While an application is in this state, it can be added to a Review for scoring and acceptance decision.
- Cancelled – The applicant has chosen to retract their request for membership.
- Denied – The organization has chosen to decline the request for membership.
- Current Members
- Approved – The organization has chosen to approve the membership request, but the person is not yet actively installed in the position.
- Active – The person is currently an active member of the organization.
- Inactive – The person’s membership is temporarily suspended. This may be due to a pending renewal process or because of a temporary leave of absence. This status lets them remain connected. They can be easily reactivated without having to reapply when their temporary situation ends.
- Former Members
- Terminated – The person has permanently ended their membership in the specific position. To resume membership the person will have to have a fresh appointment or submit a new application.
