If a population set of at least 10 distinct people is identified in Get Involved, you can generate a demographic report of them. The reporting tool draws from several data sources when it tries to analyze students and employees for Texas A&M and other institutions as well as unaffiliated people. If an adequate data source is not available, demographic classification may report “Unknown” for a characteristic.
When preparing a demographic report, the population set(s) to be included will be shown. This reporting function is already connected to event attendees. The ability to report on more population sets such as members of the organization will be enabled later.
TIP: Although each detail page for an event having at least ten attendees provides a link to report that specific event, you can also generate an aggregated report for multiple events. After clicking the (pie chart) link, remove the reference number at the end of the URL (such as ‘EVN-123’ or ‘TSL-123456’). Going to the revised URL without a reference will present a page that lets you enter multiple reference numbers to include in the report. You can find the reference numbers for your events on the “All Events” listing page. You can only report events for which your organization has permission.
Before generating a report, you can choose to limit the report to certain subsets of the selected population.
Filter by Institution
You can choose whether to include in the report people who are directly associated with Texas A&M University (TAMU), associated with known institutions other than TAMU, or who appear to be unaffiliated with any known institution (e.g. members of the community). By default, all options are selected. Note that TAMU-HSC is treated as a separate institution than TAMU for employees.
Filter by Type
You can also filter by person type. For example, you may want to only a report about the students who participated n an event. Options include Students, Staff/Faculty, and people are neither students nor staff/faculty. The report does not count part-time “student employees” as Staff/Faculty. By default, all options are selected.
After verifying the desired filters, there need to be at least ten people remaining in the population for a report to be generated. This is to preserve the privacy and anonymity of the correlated demographic data.
Clicking “Submit” will then generate a report based on your selections.
